The Ford garage wanted £300 for a new EGR and £750 + labour for a new turbo if the EGR didn't sort the boost issue. Instead, I bought a blanking plate for £8 and blanked the EGR in a weekend. Boost solenoid only fitted to 16 plate cars (confirmed by parts dept of local dealership). Not sure how boost is controlled on later cars, perhaps a member can inform. Rubber pipe onto hard pipe connection using jubilee clip as clamp (no splits or cuts). Need to replace jubilee clips with more substantial fittings.
2007 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 90BHP - 1.6 Ford Focus turbo power loss. Hello all, I had the standard Ford Focus turbo failure. I'm pretty sure it was due to a blocked oil strainer. I went for the refurbished BTN turbo with the fitting kit including the new oil feed pipe, banjo bolts, gaskets and copper seals.
